KENOSHA, Wis. – Missouri S&T's women's cross country team finished in eighth place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships held Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Lisa Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa) was the top runner for Missouri S&T in the six-kilometer race as she placed 29
th overall, one spot ahead of teammate
Colleen Conrad (Mogadore, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary's ). Lake recorded a time of 23:38 while Conrad crossed the finish line in 23:40. Samantha Schussele was S&T's third runner to finish in 43
rd place in 24:02, just ahead of teammate
Mindy Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa).
S&T's fifth runner was freshman
Codee Pedersen (Taylor Ridge, Ill./Rockridge), who finished in 50
th place in a time of 24:26.
Bellarmine captured its first GLVC title by beating defending champion Southern Indiana by two points in the team competition. The individual champion was Lewis' Kathryn Hague, who ran a time of 21:29 to win the race by 29 seconds over USI's Jackie Henderson.
