STILLWATER, Okla. –
David Huskisson (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) finished 11th overall and the top five Miner runners finished in the top 20 percent of the overall field to help Missouri S&T's men's cross country team place third Saturday morning in the 75th annual Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University.
David Huskisson (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) had the top finish for S&T as he placed 13th overall in the eight-kilometer race in a time of 26:08.43.
Jacob Tayloe (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) came in 26th place overall in 26:38.74 and
Kyle Stocker (Solon, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Prairie) crossed the line right behind him in 26:40.02.
Wynn McClellan (Jackson, Mo./Notre Dame) placed 40th overall in the 218-runner field in a time of 26:53.48 and
Chris Marchman (Sheridan, Ark./Sheridan) was the fifth Miner to cross the finish line in 26:55.25, which was good for 41st place.
The Miners' next two runners were Daniel Depsoki, who was 43rd in 26:56.81 and
Brett Conway (Troy, Ill./Triad), who finished 53rd in 27:14.99.
New Mexico Highlands took the team title with a total of 54 points, with five of the top 19 scoring spots in the race. Southwestern (Kan.) was second with 121 points, six ahead of S&T's total of 127. The Miners finished well ahead of fourth place Colorado College in the meet that featured 25 teams.
Missouri S&T will hold its only home meet of the 2011 season next weekend, the Jackling Jocks Invitational, slated to begin at 9:45 a.m. at the S&T Golf Course.
