STILLWATER, Okla. – Missouri S&T's women's cross country team got a 22nd place finish from senior
Colleen Conrad (Mogadore, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary's ) and finished 11th overall out of the 32 teams entered in the 75th annual Cowboy Jamboree held Saturday morning at Oklahoma State University. The meet was the first for the Lady Miners since Sept. 3.
Conrad covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 19:26.70 and had one of the two sub-20 minute times posted by an S&T runner Saturday.
Mindy Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa) also broke the 20-minute mark with a time of 19:56.54 to finish 42nd, while twin sister
Lisa Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa) was 54th in 20:06.11. The last two scorers for the Lady Miners were
Alyson Smith (Scott Air Force Base, Ill./Mascoutah) in 69th place with a time of 20:19.04 and
Diane Strong (Jackson, Mo./Jackson) in 80th place in 20:27.90.
The next two S&T finishers were
Rachel Feist (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks) in 102nd place in 20:53.22 and
Madalyn Elliott (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) in 105th in 20:55.47. There were 264 runners in the women's race Saturday.
Friends University won the meet with 33 points – with four of the top six finishers overall including race winner Jordan Arnold. The Lady Miners were fifth among the NCAA Division II schools at the meet as they finished with a score of 256 points.
The Lady Miners will compete on the home course next weekend as they take part in the Jackling Jocks Invitational at the S&T Golf Course. The first race is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m.
