EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Missouri S&T's men's cross country team recorded its second-highest finish as a team Saturday at the Great Lakes Valley Conference championships, posting a fourth place effort as the team's top three runners all finished among the top 20 overall.
David Huskisson (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) led that contingent with a 16
th place showing, covering the eight-kilometer course at the University of Southern Indiana in 25:29.
Jacob Tayloe (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) was next in 18
th place in a time of 25:36, while
Wynn McClellan (Jackson, Mo./Notre Dame) was 20
th in 25:41.
The next two runners to cross the finish line for S&T were
Chris Marchman (Sheridan, Ark./Sheridan), who was 45
th in 26:18 and
Danny Deposki (St. Louis, Mo./Lindbergh), who finished 50
th in a time of 26:21. S&T's next two runners were
Kyle Stocker (Solon, Iowa/Cedar Rapids Prairie), who had a time of 26:54 and
Greg Gibson (Jackson, Mo./Jackson), who recorded a mark of 27:00.
Southern Indiana had the top three finishers – including meet winner Brendan Devine (24:29) – to capture the team title. Bellarmine finished second and Wisconsin-Parkside came in third place with a team score 20 points ahead of the Miners' total of 139. The previous top finish for the Miners at the conference meet since joining the GLVC was a third place showing in 2007.
The next competition for the Miners will take place Nov. 5 at the NCAA Midwest Regional at Ferris State University.
