SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Missouri S&T sophomore
Alyson Smith (Scott Air Force Base, Ill./Mascoutah) earned all-conference honors Saturday as she finished in 11
th place at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Cross Country Championships, with the Lady Miners finishing in tenth place as a team.
Smith completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 22:35, making her the second Lady Miner runner to earn All-GLVC honors since S&T joined the conference in 2005.
The remaining Lady Miner runners finished back in the pack, headed by
Rachel Feist (Tulsa, Okla./Jenks) in 62
nd place with a time of 24.06.
Mindy Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa) came in 65
th place in 24:12, while
Allie Wood (West Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) was 79
th in 24:48 and
Lisa Lake (Sapulpa, Okla./Sapulpa) finished 91
st in 25:23.
Madalyn Elliott (Chesterfield, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) finished with a time of 25:34 and
Elizabeth Hinck (Cedarburg, Wis./Living Word Lutheran) with a mark of 25:44 to round out the top seven for S&T.
Bellarmine's Angela Musk won the race with a time of 21:07 winning by 26 seconds over teammate Emily Frith. Southern Indiana won the team competition with four of the top eight runners overall, scoring 42 points overall.
Missouri S&T's next competition will take place at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional on Nov. 3 in Kenosha, Wis.
