(Indianapolis, Ind.) – The Missouri S&T Miner volleyball squad had five players named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference squad announced by the league's office on Thursday night at the pre-tournament awards banquet. In addition Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) was named the conference's co-freshman of the year along with Rockhurst's Kelsey Stratman.

S&T had five players named to the All-GLVC West Division team. Julie Meyer (Marthasville, Mo./St. Francis Borgia) (RS), Jennifer Costello (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway South ) (S), Krista Haslag (Linn, Mo./Helias ) (MH), Jocelyn DeMotte (Topeka, Kan./Hayden) (L/DS) and Kelly Kosmopolis (O'Fallon, Ill./O'Fallon Township) (MH). Costello and Haslag were also named to the All-GLVC first team.
Haslag leads the GLVC in blocking this season averaging 1.32 blocks/set and is currently 11^th in all of Division II in that category. She also leads the league with .345 hitting percentage. She holds the schools single season records for assisted blocks (132) and total blocks (147).

Meyer leads the team in kills with 315 and is averaging 2.94/set. Costello is second in the GLVC in assists/set dishing out 11.27/set and is 13^th in Division II. DeMotte is currently fourth in the GLVC averaging 5.18 digs/set and has helped lead a defense that ranks seventh nationally in digs/set with 18.91. Kosmopolis is second on the team and in the GLVC with her .341 hitting percentage. She has recorded 227 kills against 46 errors in 531 swings this season.

The Miners won their second consecutive GLVC West Division title last Saturday and will open the GLVC Tournament on Friday against Southern Indiana at the Indiana South Sports Academy (ISSA) beginning at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
