ROLLA, Mo. – Missouri S&T senior offensive lineman Brian Peterson (Jacksonville, Ill./Jacksonville) was named today to the Capital One Academic All-District football team for District 4 for the 2012 season, making him eligible for Academic All-America honors when that team is announced next month.

Peterson, a chemical engineering major at MissourI S&T, has started along the offensive line this season for a unit that is one of most productive in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and NCAA Division II.  As a team, the Miners rank in the top three in the GLVC in most of the offensive categories, including being tied for the league lead in scoring at 39.2 points per game and ranking second in passing offense.

Missouri S&T is 9-1 on the year and currently ranked 20^th in the American Football Coaches Association rankings heading into their regular season finale Saturday at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
