PUEBLO, Colo. – Missouri S&T's
Jusean Archibald (Bridgeton, Mo./Trinity) ran his third-best time of the 2013 season in the 110-meter hurdles Friday at the NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships, but the mark wasn't enough to land him a spot in Saturday's finals in the event.
Archibald posted a time of 14.46 seconds in the second of three heats in the preliminary round of the 110-hurdles, but the time was only the 19
th-best overall as the top finishers landed spots in the finals.
The fastest time was recorded by Johnson C. Smith's Andre Collins at 13.72 seconds, as all nine competitors in Saturday's final all posted a preliminary time of under 14 seconds.
Missouri S&T will have a second competitor in action at the national meet Saturday in
Ryan McGuire (Hobart, Ind./Hobart) – who gained entry in the pole vault on Thursday – as he will begin his efforts at noon Central time.
